02The adapter

A Connectify-owned Shopify adapter, not a packaged connector

The runtime takes care of it by keeping the Shopify adapter inside our own runtime, monitored by our SRE rotation and updated as Shopify Inc. ships breaking changes. That means the field maps, sync cadences, and replay rules are shaped to your exact data model — including Storefront, Admin and GraphQL coverage with bulk operations and Storefront, Admin and GraphQL coverage with bulk operations. For furniture retailers, the difference shows up the first time the upstream API throws a 500 — the adapter retries, journals the failure, and never silently swallows a transaction.

Where Shopify usually breaks — and how the adapter holds

The hidden cost lives inside floor models, delivery scheduling, and financing. We collapse that workflow by mapping every payload through a versioned schema layer with explicit lineage — every record can be traced from the Shopify originating event down to the field that wrote it, and ops finally trusts the data without manual reconciliation. The adapter also ships with Shopify Markets currency, tax and language routing so the runtime can keep up when furniture retailer crews push volume spikes during seasonal peaks.

Why Furniture Stores pull Shopify integration the hardest

Furniture Stores are constantly fighting floor models, delivery scheduling, and financing — and Shopify sits exactly in the middle of that workflow. Connectify pre-maps the Shopify entities the industry actually uses (not the entire vendor catalog) and wires Shopify Markets currency, tax and language routing into the lifecycle that matters: order-to-cash. That is the difference between a connector that lights up a checkbox and an adapter that so customer service finally sees the same record sales does.

Commercial terms — one flat monthly plan, no setup fee

Connectify charges a monthly retainer sized to your message volume — no per-API-call gotchas, no per-seat surcharges, and no setup fee to get started. The Shopify adapter goes live only after it is reconciled and signed off by the team that will operate it inside the furniture retailer workflow. A one-page exit clause hands you the code if you ever leave, so Connectify keeps the adapter working on month-end close to keep your business.

Frequently Asked Questions

  1. How long does the Shopify integration take to ship?

Our standard window is thirty days from signed scope to live Shopify adapter in production, plus a one-week monitored stabilization phase. For Furniture Stores, that includes a sandbox loop with your team, parallel-run reconciliation, and a documented runbook handed to your operations lead.

  2. Do we own the integration code at the end?

Yes. The Connectify Shopify adapter ships with full source escrow rights — at any point you can request a snapshot of the code, configuration, and runbooks. We prefer you stay on our managed runtime, but you are never locked in.

  3. What happens if Shopify changes their API after we go live?

Our SRE team monitors Shopify change announcements and rolls compatibility updates inside our maintenance retainer. If a breaking change ships, we own the migration; you don't pay extra to stay current and you don't field calls from the vendor.

  4. Can the Shopify adapter handle our custom fields?

On first connection the adapter discovers every custom field, custom object and custom workflow inside your Shopify tenant and presents them as first-class mappings — you decide which to mirror, which to ignore, and which to enrich.

  5. Will this break our existing reports?

No. The adapter writes through a versioned schema layer with full lineage. Existing reports, BI extracts and Excel pivot-tables keep working unchanged while new fields and new objects are added behind the scenes for the Shopify surface.

  6. Does it work with our existing Shopify licenses?

Yes — the adapter rides on top of your existing Shopify subscription. We use service-principal or OAuth M2M credentials so the integration never burns a named-user seat and never pushes you into a higher tier.
